If you placed an order on or before January 30th, 2024, the refund policy below will apply to your order. If you placed an order on January 31st, 2024, or later, please refer to the current refund policy.

GUIDELINES FOR REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

Most fashion brands and companies have a returns rate of nearly 30% – meaning 30% of people who place an order actually then return their purchase later on. Here at The Sleep Shirt, our returns rate is 4%. You can understand why we’re pretty proud of that. 

That said, we know that sometimes, things just don’t work out. Here’s what to do if that happens to you and one of our nightshirts.

  • We accept any unworn, unwashed, unaltered, or unused full priced clothing for a refund or exchange within 21 calendar days from the date of purchase. Some exceptions may apply – please see below.
  • All refunds, exchanges, or returns must be initiated within 21 days of purchase.
  • We do not accept returns or exchanges that are not pre-approved by email.
  • Shipping fees are not refunded.
  • Items bought on sale are final sale.
  • Exchanged items are final sale.
  • Gift cards are final sale.
  • All sample sale bundles and mystery bundles are final sale.
  • We cannot apply a discount code or store credit to an order which has already been placed. If you are having trouble applying a discount code to your order, please send us an email before you place your order and we can assist you.
  • Items bought with the newsletter discount code or influencer discount code of 20% or less are eligible for exchanges, items bought with any other discount codes, credit notes, or Sleep Shirt points are final sale.
  • All items must be returned in sellable condition (new and unworn), in their original packaging with all original hang tags attached.
  • When returning items, please note your tracking number. Returns must include the customer order number and RA number, if one has been provided.
  • Once a return is authorized by email, the item(s) must be returned within 14 days in order to be eligible for a refund or exchange.
  • When shipping goods to us from outside of Canada, please ensure you mark the items as a return with a low value and choose a service so that we do not incur any duties, taxes, or brokerage fees (usually charged if you ship using a ground service.) You will be responsible for any fees that are incurred during the returns process.
  • We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or return if the item is no longer in sellable condition.
  • It can take up to 10 business days to process a return. If your goods have been received more than 10 business days ago, please contact us at info@thesleepshirt.com, to enquire about your return status.
  • We do not offer price adjustments.
  • For orders placed from outside of Canada that incurred import fees and sales taxes, these fees and taxes are non-refundable through Into the Bedroom Inc. You may be able to recover these by directly contacting your local customs bureau, a customs broker, or the organization to whom you paid them to.
  • An item can only be exchanged once. We do not offer exchanges for item(s) that were sent out as part of an exchange. Items purchased with a credit note that was issued as part of an exchange are final sale.
  • Please note that credit notes issued as part of an exchange cannot be combined with other promotions that require the use of a code. Only one code can be applied to each order.
  • If a product was damaged or shipped incorrectly, please contact us within 7 days of receiving the item at info@thesleepshirt.com to arrange for a replacement item. In order to process damaged goods, we require a photo of the damage to the garment, as well as all of the packaging. There will be no charge for shipping on damaged or replacement orders, provided we are contacted within 7 days of its arrival. We are not responsible for damage that takes place after the package is in the customer's possession.
  • Please note items from the Bare Knitwear pop up are only available for exchange. This applies to all knitwear.

NORTH AMERICA: CLOTHING REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Exchanges on full-priced clothing are free. If you purchased a full-price clothing item and want to exchange it for the same item in a different size, an item of equal or greater value, or store credit, simply send us an email with your order number and the item you want to exchange. We will then provide you with a return shipping label. Once we have received the item you wish to exchange, we will send out your replacement item or issue you a credit note to use at a later date. Please note that exchanged items are final sale.

Refunds on full-priced clothing incur a return shipping charge of $20 in Canada ($35 in the USA). These fees are to help cover the cost of shipping and merchandise returns processing. If you purchased a full-price clothing item and want to return it for a refund, please send us an email with your order number and the item you wish to return and we will provide you with a return shipping label. Once we have received the item, we will refund you the cost of the item minus the return shipping charge.

Clothing items purchased using a newsletter discount code or influencer discount code can be exchanged for a credit note, minus a return shipping charge of $20 in Canada ($35 in the USA). These fees are to help cover the cost of shipping and merchandise returns processing. If you wish to exchange an item purchased using one of these discount codes, please send us an email with your order number and we will provide you with a return shipping label. Once we have received the item, we will issue you a credit note for the returned item, minus the return shipping charge. Please note that exchanged items are final sale. Please note that the credit note cannot be applied to previous purchases, you must use the credit note on a future purchase. If you are having problems with applying a credit note to an order, please contact us at info@thesleepshirt.com prior to completing your order.

All sale items and items purchased using a discount code or credit note (with the exception of the newsletter and influencer discount codes – see above) are final sale. Please note items from the Bare Knitwear pop-up are only available for exchange. All mystery bundles are final sale.

We do not process refunds over $750CAD (or the equivalent in your currency). Refund requests over $750 will result in a $750 refund and the remaining balance in store credit. Customers are entitled to a maximum of $750 in refunds in each calendar year, the rest will be paid out in credit notes. We reserve the right to deny any refund or exchange if the customer has a history of multiple returns. Please note all made-to-order items are final sale.

EUROPEAN UNION: REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

If you purchased full-price or discounted merchandise and wish to exchange it or get a refund, send us an email with your order number and we will send you instructions. You will be expected to return the item to us using a shipping method of your choice. Once we have received the item you wish to return, we will issue you a credit note or refund you the cost of the item. All other refund policy terms and conditions apply.

Please note that all the St. Genève products are made to order, and therefore are not eligible for refunds or exchanges from the EU.

REST OF THE WORLD: REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Orders shipped outside of Canada, the US, and the European Union member states are final sale.

NORTH AMERICA REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES ON NON-CLOTHING ITEMS

The following items can be exchanged for another product or a credit note in North America if they are purchased at full price: blankets, quilts, UPCYCLE products, storage, and baskets. The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges via the courier of their choice. If the above items were purchased on sale or using a discount code, they are final sale.

The following items are final sale and are not eligible for refunds or exchanges: candles, eye masks, face masks, slippers, and beauty products.

All St.Genève products, including duvets, pillows and bedding, are made to order and are final sale. Exchanged items are also final sale.

REFUSED OR UNDELIVERED PACKAGES

Please note you are responsible for following the tracking of your package and alerting us if there are any delays or issues. You will receive a tracking number when your item ships and you are responsible for ensuring that you are home to receive your package or available to pick up the package from a local collection point. Please contact us if you have not received a tracking number within 5 business days of placing your order.

Packages that are refused by the customer or a person at their address will be considered abandoned and are not eligible for a refund or replacement. If you fail to pay the duties and import fees, or you do not respond to delivery or pick-up requests from the delivery company or ourselves, your package will be considered abandoned and will not be eligible for a refund or replacement. The customer is responsible for following the tracking and responding to any updates about collecting the package at a pick-up point. Some courier companies will not send a message to inform you that your package is ready for collection, so customers must follow the tracking and respond accordingly. If you think you are going to miss your package or will be unable to collect it, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you. Undelivered packages are considered abandoned and are not eligible for a refund or exchange.

Please note that any returns sent directly to our warehouse without prior approval from The Sleep Shirt will not be accepted. Please make sure to contact info@thesleepshirt.com for prior approval before returning an item.

NON-RESPONSIVE COMMUNICATIONS

We reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange on any item if the customer is unresponsive to emails or other communications. Please respond to all communications from The Sleep Shirt within two weeks; all offers are rescinded if we do not receive a response within this time frame.
