Our Best Sellers: The Full Length Sleep Shirt
We designed the Full Length Sleep Shirt in 2014 after we had several customers request a floor-length nightshirt. We took inspiration from traditional women's nightgowns, classic shirt dresses, flannel cabin sleepwear, and desert kaftans (think Morocco chemise meets Palm Springs.) It has turned out to be one of our most popular shapes, and it is surprisingly versatile - it's hugely popular in the winter when we offer it in flannels, and when offered in linens, it is a beautiful beach coverup.
Product features of this extra long nightshirt
This extra long sleep shirt has a floor length hem with side slits up to the knee. The sleeves are three quarter length and have a thin buttoned cuff. The neckline features our signature shirt stand collar and placket.
What you need to know about the fit
We designed this ladies long nightdress for sleeping so it is designed to fit loosely. The body is slimmer than our traditional nightshirts but is cut to have wiggle room. We often hear from customers that this item is too long - and we agree. This long sleep dress is cut really long because we want it to be suitable for tall people. However, we've ensured the hem is a simple one, so this shape is easy to shorten if you have a sewing machine at home and it won't be expensive to have hemmed by a seamstress. If you are between sizes, we suggest you size down.
Fabrics: flannel sleepwear or linen nightgown?
We restock this long sleeping shirt two or three times a year and we offer it in a wide variety of fabrics. The classic collection, which includes our Blue Oxford Stripe Cotton, the White Seersucker, the Red Buffalo Check, and the White Linen, is restocked regularly. In the Fall and Resort collections, you can expect to find the Full Length Sleep Shirt in soft flannels and brushed cottons, and in the Spring collections, we include this shape in lightweight fabrics suitable for the beach - usually 100% linens or linen blends. This long sleeve nightshirt is also restocked regularly in 100% cotton shirtings.
